The firm was founded on October 3, 2017 by the Kerala government and CIAL. It was established with the goal of creating an inland canal between Kovalam and Bakel. 3. Overall aircraft and passenger movements grew by 60.06% and 92.66%, respectively, in FY22.
4. Cochin International Airport is one of the few airports in the country where all aircraft parking bays have hydrant fueling systems, and the fuel input from the refinery to the fuel storage yard is connected via an underground conduit. This ensures faster aircraft refiling and turnaround time.
5. The geographical location of Cochin International Airport, which serves as the halfway of the East West Corridor between the Middle East (UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, etc.) and the Far East (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, etc.), is ideal for the fuel stopover industry.
6. In FY22, the total number of passengers flying from Cochin International Airport is 47 lacs, up from 24 lacs the previous year.
7. The volume of international freight moved has grown from 35k in FY21 to 46k in FY22. Domestic freight flow has grown from ten thousand in FY21 to thirteen thousand in FY22.
